Heggunje Rajeeva Shetty Karnataka Public School, Brahmavara

Heggunje Rajeeva Karnataka Public School, Brahmavara, is fully sponsored by Heggunje Rajeev Shetty Charitable Trust, reflecting its deep commitment to education.
A landmark initiative of the Trust is its public–private partnership with the Department of Education, Government of Karnataka. This collaboration represents the first-of-its-kind private participation model for strengthening government schools in the state.
Under this partnership, the Trust committed approximately ₹3 crore towards the development of government schools and PU colleges in Brahmavara.
The Karnataka Public School at Brahmavara stands as a flagship outcome of the Trust’s PPP model. Built with private participation and public oversight, the school was inaugurated in October 2024.
The project demonstrates how private initiatives can elevate public education infrastructure while preserving accessibility and quality.

SCHOLARSHIPS, ACADEMIC SUPPORT, AND DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Beyond physical infrastructure, the Trust supports:
• Scholarship programs for deserving students
• Appointment of private teachers to address faculty shortages
• Construction of computer laboratories
• Establishment of computer rooms and digital learning facilities

These initiatives strengthen academic outcomes and digital literacy.

VIDYA POSHAK AWARD – TEACHER AND COMMUNITY RECOGNITION

The Heggunje Rajeeva Shetty Vidya Poshak Award was instituted to recognise retired teachers, social service contributors, and individuals dedicated to education and culture.

The award has been conferred for two consecutive years, reinforcing respect for educators and lifelong contributors to society.

Digital Education & Counselling Partnership With IIT Madras Pravarrtak

Heggunje Rajeev Shetty Charitable Trust has partnered with Indian Institute of Technology Madras to bring high-quality education to rural government school students through online classes. This initiative bridges the gap between access and opportunity by connecting students to world-class academic resources.

In collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak, the Trust supports large-scale digital education and counselling initiatives. The program currently reaches approximately 350 schools across India.

The 2024–25 phase, launched on 15 August 2024, focuses on online training, career counselling, and student well-being, with planned expansion to 150 high schools and PU colleges along the coastal belt.

It empowers young learners with knowledge, exposure, and confidence to excel.

Free Uniform Distribution

Heggunje Rajeev Shetty Charitable Trust supports government school children by providing essential school uniforms, ensuring dignity and equal opportunity in education.
With thousands of students already benefited, this initiative helps reduce the financial burden on families.
It reflects the Trust’s commitment to nurturing young minds and encouraging consistent school attendance.

Housing for Koraga Community

Heggunje Rajeev Shetty Charitable Trust is committed to improving the lives of the Koraga community by supporting the construction of safe and dignified homes.
The Trust undertakes housing initiatives for marginalised communities, including the Koraga community.
Under the guidance of Param Pujya Sri Sri Vishweshwar Theertha Swami of Pejavara Peeth, 120+ homes were constructed, this initiative brings stability, security, and a better quality of life. The Trust continues its mission of empowering underserved communities with care and compassion.

Other Major Initiatives from the Trust

Support for artists and cultural heritage

Recognising the importance of cultural preservation, the Trust has supported housing and welfare initiatives for Yakshagana artists, contributing to the sustainability of traditional art forms.

Healthcare and emergency response initiatives

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust provided ventilators, oxygen generators, and medical equipment to hospitals and health facilities. Healthcare support continues as needed.

Food security and nutrition support

The Trust supports food security initiatives such as mid-day meals, Ganji Kendras, and Anna Dasoha Kendras, ensuring nutritional support for vulnerable populations.

Public leadership & institutional engagement

Major Trust initiatives have been inaugurated and supported by senior public leaders, including representatives from the Government of Karnataka, elected officials, education authorities, and academic institutions. This engagement reinforces transparency, governance, and alignment with public policy objectives.

Long-term social impact & sustainability

All CSR initiatives are designed for long-term social impact. Programs are evaluated based on sustainability, scalability, and community empowerment.
